Google Plus
Google+ is great for SEO and can really drive traffic to your site. To make sure people want to engage with you it’s worth taking the time to brand your page. To do this you will need to update your profile photo and cover photo at the sizes shown in our guide.
LinkedIn
LinkedIn is the place to share you company’s story, news, services, products and advertise jobs. In order to entice new clients, customers and talent it’s important that your message and brand get through, follow our guide to set up a winning page. It’s a much more text driven site so make sure your cover photo really impacts and follow through making sure what your saying really shows off your company.
Instagram
Instagram gives followers a visual real time snippet of what the brand is up to, giving your brand exposure in a creative way. The app does most of the hard work resizing images for you but to get your logo looking sharp we suggest following our guide to get the size spot on. You can also design images (or adverts) to be posted at this size.
Pinterest
Pinterest is great for business where images really sell their services, if this is the case it’s important you get those images right so resize them to the specification we suggest and they will look perfect!
YouTube
YouTube is great for customer engagement and SEO, but getting your brand identity on your channel can be tricky as it resizes automatically for desktop, tablet and mobile. Fear not our guide makes it really easy.
Vimeo
Videos posted on Vimeo tend to feel more professional than on YouTube, a bit like content posted on LinkedIn vs Facebook, and can be great for building a community around your brand. Vimeo is mainly used by creative professionals so it’s important that your page looks perfect, make sure your uploading your videos at the right sizes using our guide.
Slideshare
Slideshare is often referred to as the YouTube of PowerPoint’s and is great for sharing your presentations, documents and infographics and integrating them with LinkedIn and Facebook. It is great resource. Thanks for sharing.
However, i think that youtube, vimeo and slideshare is not based on social networking.
I shared your post on Twitter, but no cheatsheet for me. Did i miss it? How can i get it?
Hi Silvia,
you need to share it using the pink share box at the bottom of the page to unlock the download button, but don’t worry we’ve just shared the PDF with you via email 🙂
Jasper
Love the cheat sheet – perfect snapshot of all SMs 🙂 – a very handy resource to get back to basics
Got it to work with Firefox. The social widget is very glitchy on Chrome. Thanks for the PDF!
Thanks for alerting us to Micky – we’re looking into this now. Glad you received the PDF ok!
Shared but did not get the pdf.
Using Chrome, maybe that’s the problem?
Hi Judy,
Sorry to hear you’re having problems – I’ll email it to you now. Did you share from the main pink box at the bottom of the blog? We’ve just tested it in Chrome and it seems to work ok our end – can I ask what version are you using?
Thanks,
Victoria
Brilliant!
Thank you for distilling all this valuable information down to two pages.
Thank you! This is very helpful.
Are there also cheat sheets for paid promotions on social channels? Great stuff.
Hi James,
great idea, we will include this in the next update for the cheat sheet!
Thanks,
Jasper
This is GREAT thanks
It’s actually likely that, had the download simply been available, that I would have shared it as a valuable piece of information. Instead, I went out of my way to comment and say that extorting content in trade for shares might not be great UI. I don’t blame you, it just doesn’t feel right to me. I might be in the minority though. (it’s very pretty, however and I like your captcha).
Hi Rick,
glad you like the Cheat Sheet and thanks for the feedback. Our thinking was that since we put so much time into putting it together that it wouldn’t be too much to ask to get people to share it in return for the download.
Thanks,
Jasper
Jasper,
While I understand how some people may react as Rick has, I wanted to present a different opinion. I come across many sites where you can “pay with a Tweet”, etc. As a new, small business owner without a large cash flow, this option is very appealing to me. Also, there are so many fantastic posts I INTEND to tweet or post to Facebook LATER. The reality is, they are usually forgotten in the hustle and bustle of my daily schedule. For me, this is a quick and easy option.
I really need to get serious about social media, a website, etc., and was absolutely DREADING the thought of seeking out this info. I would have gladly paid for your invaluable resource. I am so grateful for the time the team took to pull it all together into such a clean and useful summary. It’s just brilliant! – Dez 🙂
p.s. I am sharing a link to this resource and your website in the Etsy forums. I know this is something many, many Etsy shop owners would love to see!
Hi Desiree,
really glad the download was helpful for you and thanks for sharing the link on the Etsy forums. I completely agree, we saw the social sharer as a great way for getting our resource out to as many people as possible. I hope it helps you out!
Thanks,
Jasper
Thanks for sharing a great little resource.
What a great resource! Thanks so much for creating this!
Great resource. Thanks for putting this together!
Google
The facts mentioned in the article are some of the most effective obtainable.
Thanks a million!
Such a helpful tool – as I had to go exactly the process outlined at the beginning of the post and try finding all the sizes for everything to give to my designer!
this was so helpful!! I’ll be printing this out and keeping it close by 😉 Thanks!
I tried to share this with the pink share button at the bottom of the page, but it doesn’t appear to be working. Great idea though, thanks for making all our lives a little easier
